Years ago, orthodontic treatment was available only to the wealthy. In the early part of the 20th century, braces cost as much as a house. Later the cost was as much as a Cadillac. Today, the price for orthodontic treatment is only a small fraction of that Cadillac.
While the cost for many medical and dental procedures has skyrocketed, orthodontics has become more affordable, and may be the best bargain in the health care industry when you consider the lifetime benefits of a beautiful, healthy smile with the increased level of self-satisfaction and esteem.
Why is orthodontics affordable today for most families? Technology has produced braces that are sophisticated and “patient friendly”. Braces now have “prescriptions” built into them, eliminating the need to bend wires for each tooth. Additionally, braces can now be bonded directly to the front surface of each tooth instead of having a metal band cemented totally around the tooth.
The newest orthodontic wires available today are made of titanium alloys. These wires are “softer” and more gentle than the stiff steel wires previously used and can “work” for a longer period of time. As a result, titanium wires do not make your teeth nearly as sore and don’t have to be adjusted as often. Appointments don’t last as long. Your braces will still come off just as fast, if not faster, than with the old-fashioned wires.

Interest Free Office Payment Plans
A down payment of approximately 25% of the fee is made at the start of treatment. This payment may be made by cash, check, or credit card. The remaining balance is paid in monthly installments by auto debit to your checking account or credit card.
Another option would be approximately $500.00 down and the balance to be paid in 23 equal payments.
A prepayment courtesy of 5% is given for payment of the fee in full at the start of treatment by cash, check or credit card. A 3% courtesy will be given for 2 equal annual payments. This option is only available for comprehensive treatment cases. Our practice accepts Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
We will verify with your dental insurance carrier that you have orthodontic coverage and the dollar amount of the coverage when we see you for your first visit to our office. We accept assignment of benefits for orthodontic treatment. We will file for your orthodontic benefits and request that payments be made directly to our office. By accepting benefits we are able to reduce both your financial obligation and paperwork! Payment options will then be presented to you for the portion of our fee not covered by insurance.
Please bring your insurance information with you to the initial exam so that we can expedite the payment of claims. Also, if you have a change in insurance benefits or enroll in a dental plan after treatment has started; please be sure to notify the business office so that we may assist you in obtaining any benefits that may be available.
Company Flex Plan/Health Savings Account
Your employer may offer a medical spending account (Section 125 Plan), which allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for your medical/dental expenses. Please contact your employer for more details. Should this option be available, we will be glad to discuss payment options that will allow you to maximize your tax savings.
